Designed in 1901 and completed in 1904, this building was occupied until the late 1930’s by popular Scottish newspaper, the Daily Record.
Daily Record Building
This large building lies between two city centre lanes, west of Drury Street. Mackintosh surprises us with his striking use of colour on the façade & skilfully combines sculpted sandstone & white glazed bricks to maximise light.
The Stereo café/bar on the ground floor is open from noon daily, enabling visitors to sit & savour this long neglected treasure.
